Berry Eggen is full professor at the Industrial Design department of the Eindhoven University of Technology, vice-dean of the department, and chair of the Design for User Experience in Ambient Intelligent Systems research group. In addition he is appointed as adjunct professor at the Design, Architecture & Building faculty of University of Technology Sydney.

He has an interest in ubiquitous computing, multimodal interaction (including intelligent lighting and sound design) and seamless interaction design for everyday life. He gained his PhD in 1992 at the Institute for Perception Research on the perception and synthesis of computer-generated speech. Before becoming a full professor at TU/e he worked for 13 years as a principal researcher at the Philips Research. He has a background in Physics, Perception and HCI.
